The BOSS BF1 “Haunted Melody” setting.
Переглядів 3002 роки тому
Watch as the BOSS BF1 in plays a melody over an Asus2 chord. This is the “Haunted melody” setting. The flanger follows the harmony of any chord played into it. They don’t make ‘em like they used to. No other effects, only a DOD BiFeT preamp as a volume boost.

Killswitch added to my Gibson/Epi Spotlight. Didn’t want to drill a hole in the maple top, so this was a no-brainer. 10 minutes of work.

I think it needs more microphones
Can you share your presets ?
That old Android is long gone, unfortunately🖖.
Can you tell us more about the mod? Sounds nice
I used the Magicstomp for 10 years as my main sound going direct to a PA live. Great pedal does most Helix and Fractal sounds.

Thanks! More or less 35 years in the making (thinking about it), and 2 years of active R&D. I genuinely hope it helps people. 🖖
I had the txr 10x download it on my computer and I don't know how to do it again I lost it somehow how do I get this

Soon to be an Olympic sport !
Looks great! That cam gives a really nice view from inside. Cheers, Martin
Thanks! Notice how the Jackle hook is designed to sit exactly in the toggle switch hole? This prevents it falling into the guitar. I tried it on the biggest Jazz boxes I could find😀. It also allows you to turn the rod to tighten it onto the toggle switch by turning it. The fun part is that the material is so rigid and bendy at once that if you turn it a few times while holding the switch and then release the switch while holding the hook, the rod will spin back into its natural position - thereby tightening the Gripcap on the toggle switch shaft. That’s what I’m doing in the video. Thanks again for your support and input🖖.
laparoscopy for geetars !
Another word I had to look up (no pun intended).
This looks to be an excellent video and something I've wanted to learn for quite some time. However, I wish the sound could be remixed. The volume of your voice is too low. If I turn it up enough to hear your voice, the guitar squeal burst my eardrums and frightens my dog. Just a thought. Thanks M8 👍🏽
Your foot is now 14 years older.
At last some good sounds from Magicstomp.
That’s a WAY better way to use this pedal that as an acoustic sim!
Well, I tested it finally, I brought for 70 euros shipped the THR10C and sell it (I'm regreting a bit right now, honestly) and after I got for 200 euros both Yamaha THR10 and the THR10X 'cause the guy didn't want to sell the THR10X alone, after I got also, for 20 euros: the Roland Micro Cube. This would be a long review, sorry. my pedals: ─ Modified Boss MT2 (ua-cam.com/video/VYPKV3plXe4/v-deo.html) ─ Stone Deaf Warp Drive ─ Beavis FKR mk1 ─ Ibanez NTS ─ A handmade mixer pedal (like the KMA Tyler) with 2 outputs but one output blend knob, a "tone knob" kinda sweep and some kinda "Precision Drive" simple noise gate, good for playing with 2 amps, why not? ─ TSL tube Big Muff & Green Ringer "Abracadaver" style ringoctaver ─ ICA Delay ─ EHX Black Finger ─ EHX Mel9 ─ The "hacked" Zoom G1xOn A bit of weird pedals, one I helped the guy of the project so I didn't pay, the MT2 my exgf give it me, the Zoom also was 20 euros, the FKR I got in Brazil for some like 40 45 euros nowadays, I paid more on the Ibanez NTS here (100 euros) and got the Warp Drive for a 70 euros work debt, and 80 on the EHX Black Finger (with 1 of those AMT solid state tubes on it) 'cause Why not? Through these years I started to collect these stuff for the right price. So, using the mostly the Clean Channel preset plug and play, what I can say about all of this? ─ The EHX Black Finger give some life to the digital realm, I don't know, sutble but you can hear, dynamics, "feeling", but, you can go weird if you want, the Crunch Channel like to combine stuff creating weird sounds, even with the Rack Comp you can have some nice n' strange fuzzes alone. ─ Applying the filters you can really push pedals through it in a very convincing way, after using the filters and other tricks (like the Phaser one that I use for every gainier stuff and even using sutble subtle the room reverb or to play with it after the preset without the PC), I barely touched again on the Roland Micro Cube ─ The MT2 plus the Ibanez NTS sounded on the clean channel massive, I mean, massive! Beastily heavy, with that "pec punch" feel, also this MT2 with the mixer or the tone knob of the guitar can get some Obituary or Chainsaw (as a boost) sounds that I prefer over the HM2s demos that I saw, tight but very dirty and nasty and retaining clarity, I don't know what sorcery that guy is doing with these pedals or what I'm doing with these filters ─ tube Big Muff with that Green Ringer (like the Abracadaver pedal switching pre and post gain) ? Awesome ─ Very nice play with the blend knob of the Ibanez NTS on clean or edge of breakup style sounds, sounds beautiful also on the Clean Channel of the THR10X ─ Comparing the Clean of the THR10 and the X, besides the Rat style pedal, the other ones it's just not possible to sound good ─ The Lead channel it's one of the best using the editor or with pedals or both ─ On some occasions if you use the "Phaser Trick" (leaving the Depth on 0) you have to tweak the low cut on the delay filters to avoid ugly glitches ─ After using the MT2 with the THR10, is a bit irrelevant now to have the THR10X as I can have tight agressive sounds (eb tuning realm), recto agressive sounds, if you want to go loose all is possible, and at the end sounds just better for ME than the Brown 1 and 2. This make me really want to sell it, but as I work on the mountains from 3 4 to 5 months per year, maybe I'll keep it with me. ─ The Crunch Channel also works using pedals, sometimes I prefer to use my MT2 here and there, sounds different, but awesome on both channels. I'm planning to move my stuff where I live now, now that I do my stuff again on regular basis after this pandemonic times. We can't compare the THR10 even using the John's tips with the big boys, I have in Brazil a 8040 Marshall Valvestate that I don't remember how it sounds after 4 years, and here I have a Crate Preamp (like the Crate GX130C, Flexwave something), with the Carvin T100 poweramp just waiting to be used. The only thing that I'm thinking it's maybe test some new speakers on the THR10X, I know a guy that changed the speakers with the Eminence Alpha 3 and said that those speakers are so much better than the stock ones, I'm not so sold into it... And just for fun, after using all of the 3 THRs, what's my favs amps? ─ FLAT ─ bASS ─ Clean MK2 (THR10) ─ Crunch MK2 (THR10) ─ Class A (THR10C) ─ Lead V2 (THR10) ─ mini (THR10C) ─ Brown 2 (THR10X) ─ Power 2 (THR10X)
Thanks for this simple and straight forward vid man! Got a mini drop tune Mooer coming and was curious if I could use pedals with the thr
I tried your trick, but on my THR10 (mk2 firmware) it simple "glitch", now, I saw if I leave "thru" most of time the low cut I can try to emulate the trick, but if I play the low cut like you sound like crap.
Oh. I have no idea why. It’s worked on all MKIIs I’ve tried. This one is also MKII🖖
Sounds really good. Best use of these two I've ever heard.
This might be a silly question, but I can't find it anywahere on the internet. Can I use my THR as an interface in tandem with guitar rig?
Yes, you can run the DI and the amp sims into one DAW. The USB out has 4 separate outputs🖖.
Sheeesh
ahoj čo za leslie zvuk si tam mal, kde sa zobral alebo ako si ho z pedálov naladil?
Fuha, to pred 15mi rokmi😂. To je BOSS CE2 Chorus.
@@PewPewDevices myslel som si celkom fajn zvuk sa s tým da spraviť :D viem staré video
Thankyou 🤘
ᵖʳᵒᵐᵒˢᵐ 👀
Its not working on thr ii version fyi.
What's the settings please? I'm having some difficulties to put my pedals in front of it. Thanks
I’m using the filter trick (see earlier videos)🖖.
Your choice in pedals intrigues me.i see why it all works together. I see some collector stuff and some budget buys I love it. Thanks for a competent demo.many demos just show how that person will use the pedal, instead of doing what you've done and showing some possibilities. Thanks again.
I can do most the tones halfway good till I get to the clean rocket and hysteria tones. Then I'm annoyed that mine sound a bad 😂😂😂
It's hard to get the right def leppard tone with just a amp and a overdrive pedal. That's all I have 🤧
Recap: Connect computer to THR, open THR Editor application then: 1. Select a channel (clean, crunch, lead etc.), 2. Change cabinet to American 4X12, 3. Turn on DELAY (leave all others off for now), 4. Set delay setting to: Time 0.1, feedback 3.0, High Cut 4595Hz, Low Cut 64Hz, level 7.2
Its always the same with these kind of amps for example the Spark amp, its sooo powerful with its integration with the tone cloud, but it lacks an fx loop and a cab output same with the THR10. but i guess they dont want to give away too much features for these price ranges.
I often come back to this video - great to hear a little bit of ingenuity. Well done 👍
Hi John, I have some M Audio AV40 powered monitors and a TC Electronic Impact Twin audio interface. I use it on a Mac with Logic Pro X. Ive never really got to grips with my THR10 and I use it with an Epiphone Les Paul Studio. But it never really sounds great. Ive played it loud through the THR speakers but always been a bit hesitant to play as you did loud through my monitors. They are supposedly fairly flat response i.e. for use as a monitor not a speaker per se. So can I play loud through the monitors OK? I don't want to blow the cones.
Nice must have serious modifications like staggs don't sound like this.
I know this is an old vid, but I've been spending some time with my thr10 recently and tried out this trick. I also noted that you could use the phaser to do something similar if you turned down the depth to zero and then use the manual control to set the "filter". Not quite the same of course and less control, but worth a go as you might get the tone you want and still keep access to the delay
Thank you John... I'm very much a beginner and still struggling but cheers.
Hello Sir!!! Pleaaaase, help me with the killswitch that you did on this video ua-cam.com/video/n5jySWTIlaI/v-deo.html I had the same idea. Did you put a momentary button under the potentiometer?? or what?? Please help me! Thanks! And nice videos!

Hey hi there. Im just 7 ys late. I’ve just got this pedal. And you’re one of fews who can make a good sound and tone with this pedal. Could you teach me the settings to get the sound on 3:04? Thank you. Cheers. Best regards.
can you share your presets? I saw just the old one pack that you made in 2016 ... thanks! I would love to see what means splat fuzz and the fuzzes ... TV tones ...
Awesome !!!!!
Ok. Now I get I. Nice trick.
Great sound. Can you please explain that bit about the filters on the THR10, when you messed with the mod knob?
I’ve done a few simple videos on it if you check my page🖖 J.
@@PewPewDevices Thank you, I will.
What cable do I need to connect a tablet or phone? USB B/c always get notification I need an OTG connector
Can you store the pedal tones into the user memory then detach the pedals and retain that same tone?
No, only the clean amp tone is stored🖖
@@PewPewDevices ok thanks for the reply.
I am sorry if this has been covered somewhere, but I am trying to figure out how to easily change tones and amp styles with some sort of app setup with the Yamaha THR10. I love the spark for ease of use, but the hardware and sound of the Yamaha wants me to figure this out and return the Spark. Can someone point me in the right direction on how to learn how to do this well on the Yamaha? I primarily use a mac and an iPad if that matters. Thanks everyone!
Appsforamps THR Editor is for Android only, I’m afraid. I’m also a Mac guy, but keep an old Tablet and Android mobile handy for the THR.
I have this same guitar and love it. Keep buying expensive guitars but I seem to play this one the most
We were at Paddy’s house when Ryan farted on Wallace but after he clicked on the harmonist and went through some jams all was right. Very cool mate
